Motorola Moto G

i was surfing through google site and found this nice phone. Motorola Moto G. for long i was thinking of buying a new phone as my old samsung phone was not ready to die and was still stuck with me for almost three long years now.

Its a high end budget phone. with everything you require in tour day to day life. not very good for gaming and not very bad either. for the price of $199 the phone seems to be worth.

it came with in three days. i opened it and was surprised to see the model. its handy and with a descent look. but thats not it. the box has only phone and a data cable. NO phone charger. so be aware of the fact the charger might be cut from the package to manage the cost. So if you do not have charger, you have to buy it separately.

Over all it was a fair enough deal. and as i already have my samsung charger, i am not worried of it. i will add more once i start using it. for now i am searching for a sim card cutter.

Now this is a news. I got this new laptop recently and believe me for a low budget medium level daily use laptop that’s a pretty good deal. Its touch screen and windows 8 can be a new experience in all. But here i am not going to give a review of the laptop. there are plenty of them already.

So just after buying, it started giving a weird problem, the wifi connection, yes, the wifi connection just kept on disconnecting. First I thought this was a comcast issue and in fact gave a complaint call to them, they checked and found nothing. in return they showed other devises like tab and the phone giving perfect wifi connectivity. So the problem was the laptop. I was disgust. A new laptop and within few days this frustrating issue. thought of availing the return policy.

while i was searching for the exact route, cause and solution of it. i found on internet that this was a common issue, not with the laptop but with windows 8. Well its not a bug, but a setting, or may be over advance drivers.

On a positive note, i got this issue fixed, of course by searching on net and with some my own research. what you need to do is, change some settings. which is given over here.

So first i did all that was mentioned over there and restarted my computer.

At first it didn’t work. I was frustrated as hell but not defeated yet. Next i did this –

Click Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc,
expand network adapters,

Disable all of them, apart from ‘Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter’

once done, right click on  ‘Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter’ and do a ‘ROLLBACK’

Restart computer.

Viola, after this wifi only disconnects when comcast goes down. Problem solved.

Whatsapp

First of all I am a supporter, either you hate it or otherwise, but this application has seriously affected our life a lot. When i downloaded it first time i was not sure of it. It was just told casually to me come on whatsapp. I did and now after a year or so whenever it gives any trouble, my heart sinks.

When you download it first it asks for a phone number you are using, then it sends a message to verify that its your number not anyone else’s. But if you think you are done here, no, there is a catch, every time you update it to the newer version, which it certainly asks in a period of time, you have to reenter the number. Now if, in case by the time you have changed your number then you are in trouble, aren’t you?, everyone in you group knows you by your old number.

so there are two option, either you ask all to change the number, in this case you might lass many of them who are no more in contact via new number. So you might wanna go with the second option, which is also a bug in the application. keep entering your old number till it shows a message, saying ‘backup message found’, bingo, just go ahead and click next. you are all set to use whatsapp with your old number.

One more issue everyone faces is the ‘memory full’ message, irrespective of the space in your phone memory, whatsapp throws this message every time you try to update for newer version. Please note that this message is not for phone memory or the the SD card memory, its for Whatsapp cache memory, go ahead and delete the cache and clear the data for whatsapp, you are all set to update the new version.

And yes, i love the functionality which says ‘last seen at’ i mean we all wanna know when was the person, we care, watched for us, you know what i mean. Be positive.
